The OpenAI saga continued to play out over the weekend with a lot of twists and turns. Former CEO Sam Altman and fellow co-founder Greg Brockman reportedly received a lot of support from big investors and employees following their exit, increasing their chances of being reinstated. Microsoft, Investors Stand In Solidarity: Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella is reportedly in touch with Altman and has pledged support for the latter’s next endeavors, according to Bloomberg. Microsoft was reportedly in the dark about the shocking management change that took place on Friday. Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives said in a note on Saturday that he now expects Microsoft to exert more control over OpenAI. He also said he sees “more disruption from a OpenAI board/company perspective over the coming months.” “This is the time for Microsoft to now essentially take this over strategically speaking,” he said. Ives also raised the possibility of Microsoft’s AI rivals Amazon, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) and Alphabet, Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) taking advantage of the development.
